In Matt Hughes’s last fight he was able to methodically destruct Renzo Gracie. Ricardo Almeida earned his black belt under Gracie and will be looking to institute some revenge for his teacher.

July 20th, 2010 at 3:27 pmHughes is still looking tough, I hope to see some of his old school slams. Almeida has some recent wins, but I'm going with Hughes. Not expecting to see too much stand up, just a good back and forth ground game. Hughes does well against strong jiu-jitsu fighters.
July 20th, 2010 at 7:19 pmHughes is old, but still has his job due to his subpar opponents in recent bouts. He's UFC's preserved LW equivalent of Randy Couture. Basically, his job is kept solely by his past hay day ventures. Which is great way to put asses in seats and fill the card with a match that looks good on paper, but will most likely go to decision aka boring.
July 20th, 2010 at 9:02 pmHughes is still solid enough to be a gatekeeper of sorts… I dunno if that's a role he's okay with, but his best days are behind him and I don't see his career going anywhere else at this point.
