And the fact u aint even given any accurate facts shows how long u been watchin mma and how much u havent learnt from it. and secondly most of couture's career has been in HW, so how the hell is he meant to be facing all these ppl. it even went to a point wen he had both belts, so stop sulkin bout how a veteran still wants to continue fighting. if someone told u to stop typin like a dick would u do it ?

Couture has never fought in Pride, it was some King of Kings tournament. As far as the last 5 years, he beat Gonzaga & Tim Sylvia, notably. Everyone else has been a loss, scrubs, or a Vera decision. Before that, he had wins over Belfort, Chuck, Tito, Pedro Rizzo, and Kevin Randleman. I agree, though, he hasn't done squat recently. How the hell is he gonna take Shogun, or any other LHW contender? There's so many great LHW fights that need to be matched up, I wouldn't want Couture in that mix to get in the way of other fighters' title runs.

i remenber one of the rizzos fight,couture was beaten to a pulp, then announced he had won and his expression of surprise gave him away, he knew he did not deserve this victory. days later said he saw the fight at home and he realized he had won, is a good actor…

I don't understand why the fuck you guys are talking about Couture on this thread. I think Couture's out of contention for the LHW division as it's already stacked with talented fighters in their prime, he would very probably get beat, remember the guy is almost 50. I think he's still fighting cos he likes it, i don't see him as a contender anymore.

And for the Hughes-Penn fight, I'll go with Hughes, he was in such a shape last time he was really impressive and i think years are quietly catching BJ, he's in a downward spiral right now. Plus last time i saw a Madona's bet on a fight he went for Soukodjou against Alexander, so I've decided to bet against him this time .

Common man, if Penn is not able to stuff the takedowns of Franckie Edgar anymore how will it be against Matt Hughes? Plus i think wrestlers are pretty much like good wine, the older the better. Ok, maybe not but with experience, wrestlers skills are getting better, and thus the wrestlers are lasting longer than the strikers. There are exceptions like Anderson Silva, but my opinion is that strikers efficience is far more affected when aging.

We saw it with BJ, he's definitely slowing down and i haven't seen so much of his BJJ in his last two fights, plus Hughes knows how to handle JJ guys… I don't know, i really think BJ Penn should go to a training camp with other World class fighters that will push him further, i saw that Nate and Nick Diaz were working with Jake Shields, Franckie edgar, and several other top fighters, these guys will be ready to face top opposition.

Past fights Hughes has beat "scrubs" as aftermath stated (whom by the way is a great poster like peterhardwood). Also, when was Hughes last great takedown? The only reason Matt beat Penn in fight 2 was b/c Penn gased. How many 5 rounds has Hughes gone recently? Plus, I dont know if the roids fucked up your memory or not, but Hughes had trouble taking down an UNGASED Penn. You can't compare Hughes and Edgar, its like comparing Mayteshenko and Rashad Evens.

its tru tho. advice from his team was "get that cocksucker" in i tink the third round of dat fight with frank. he NEEDS to train with the best in order to keep up with the best (even tho hes still highly ranked). and he should stop using his raw talent all the time and put some better work ethic into his fights and instead use his talent as a bonus
