Ok, finally was able to see it. Randy looked good. Mark was looking like he just got out bed and had a serious hangover. I did however like the last 2 minutes with Tito! Hahahaha!
Ok, it's really time to say goodbye to the Hammer, thanks for the memories. Love the end, Mark had the mic and Tito didn't "Fuck you Tito" in front of the whole world, well, not the whole world, just those who were interested in this fight. Classic, Classic!!!!!
It was a fight with no interest as far as competition, just purely, simply showbusiness. Coleman needs some cash, I don’t blame the dude for trying, but frankly he is out of shape, a “has been” dude.
Coleman/kongo might be interesting though
2 losers, a wrestler, a muai tai champion, they both need to catch up.
Randy still believes he can grab the belt, I like his attitude. I am looking forward to watch him fighting again.
people saying these fights are boring are idiots who doesn’t train and thinks ufc is the name of the sport(not mma). I bet you guys think kimbo is the “best” fighter huh?
After seeing Randy lately my head tells me no. He really does seem a step slower than the tops guys atm. His experience and strategy make up for a lot but this is a physical sport and his body just won't do what he is willing it to do.
Anyone else's thought on this? (pre-emptive i know you want to)
I agree that this is Randy's best weight, but I don't think his stand up has improved, his stand up has always been this good, it just looked better against a very old and slow Mark Coleman. I don't give this victory much of a thought, because Randy did what everyone on the planet thought he was gonna do. He beat someone who was never good on their feet, someone who has fought his entire career at hw (except the last 3), and someone whose well beyond their fighting days.
To try and equate this victory as something more than a battle of the legends event, is just being lost in the moment. Rashad has the fastest heavyhands in the division and Randy is NOWHERE near Evans speed. Coutures fight with Big Nog can give you a little more gauge as to where he stands, but as HUMBUG said, It's Coutures experience and his incredible strategies he comes up with that he knows he can execute, anybody can come up with a great game plan, but you have to know that your skill set can implement it.
Thanks for all the great uploads ! What a great fighter Randy is.He's my guy till I die.I hope we get to see Mark beat the shit out of Tito.I never could stand Tito.He has no class at all.The way he interrupted Marks interview shows that.No wonder he's with a whore. She's his class of tramp.
Mark looked exactly i as i expected him to…like an OLDmen,,,,Dana needs to come up with some better PPV events thats why UFC doesn’t have the large fan base BOXING does cause of silly events like this 1 and shittier promotions,,this shit should of been free on SPIKE.. wow i can’t believe people paid for this..
Ricky Hatton didn't get too far with Snr (but i think Ricky was at fault too not sure).
The Mayweathers are great at what they do but i just can't stand them…
and yeah Evans speed is pretty outstanding I don't know if Rampage gonna be ready for it after such a long break between fights. Especially after doing heaps action scenes in slowmo lol. Remember what Rampage said after losing to Forrest? "I'm never gonna take 8 months off between fights again" something along those lines… Anyway if he felt 8 months was too long for Forrest how's he gonna feel jumping into the octagon with Evans after what over a year? I hope Rampage wins but if he doesn't oh well he made his own bed.
Some really good fights coming up can barely wait. Has been a pretty uneventful start to the year in UFC with injuries and delays and whatnot.
Well, if you don't like the events, then just don't watch them, it's a simple as that. Obviously you still watched them on this site for free, so what exactly are you complaining about. Every ppv even isn't gonna showcase Silva, Penn, GSP, Lesnar, ect., there are fans of Couture who'll watch him no matter what, so there's obvioulsy people who are willing to pay to see this event. Quite frankly there were some very good fights on this card beyond what most of us knew what was going to happen in the main event. With all the injuries that has happened in the past 6 months, you better thank your ass that the UFC still delivers us fights sometimes 2 or 3 times a month, as opposed to waiting every 3 or 4 months like other promotions.
If you don't like whats on tap, then just don't pay for it, you can watch it for free as you did today, but if you think the card is really that bad, then don't watch it at all. I certainly wasn't interested in paying $50 for this event, although paying $10 at the local bar seems pretty fare, but some don't think so. And comparing MMA to Boxing in the context of the fan base, boxing has been around over a century, that's apple to oranges . . . . for now.
You still get great FREE cards on spike (Florian vs Gomi), not to mention the mega great card that's going to be FREE on Versus (Jones vs Vera).
I agree, I can't stand the Mayweathers either, I was actually posing that question to MMA FANATIC when he said that Couture should hire Mayweather, I was just wondering if he met Sr or Jr., because I really can't stand Jr.
Rampages layoff (AGAIN), doesn't look too good for him, but the fact that Rashad was hurt and almost ko'ed again during his last fight, I don't think his confidence will be as great when they do meet, it'll definitely be interesting, and yeah, all the next events are going to be awsome, can't wait, especially for Jon Jones.
Yeah, I just think Jones is the next big thing and I'm just excited to watch him climb that ladder that was thought to be forever dominated by Machida. Of course, Shogun has already shook that ladder of dominance. Jones is just exciting to watch and brings something new to the game. I used to think Anthony Johnson was that rising blue chip stock and gonna be the GSP killer, but I no longer think he'll ever be champion, he just isn't mentally tough enough.
While I'm excited about UFC 110 as well, I just think Big Nog is gonna make it look easy against the very inexperienced Velasquez.
I'm pissed we didn't get the Senior Citizen's discount! Another "Hand-Me-Fight" in the bag for Couture! How does a Randy's rear naked choke beat Thiago's darce choke for the submission of the night? UFC is paving Couture's road for a title shot!
UFC 109 -Respiration lived up to its hype! Lame!
Randy is a HORSE at 205lbs. His boxing has improved but still needs work with his defense. He should hire Floyd Mayweather to help him with his defense. He dominated Coleman who is probably the strongest 205lb. fighter in the UFC. But one question….. Can Randy beat a great Stand-up fighter like Rashad Evans????
Well Pete, I definitely agree that Thiago's d'arce choke was the submission of the night, it just doesn't get any sweeter than that, but I disagree about the UFC paving the road to the title for Randy, no more than they are for Big Nog, the bottom line is he still would have to beat some of these guys who are considered the best in the division. With unfortunate things like all the injuries that happened in the last 6 months, alot of fighters can find themselves in the fortunate position of fighting for the title or for the #1 spot (ala Sonnen, Big Nog, Edgar, ect).
As far as the lhw division, I just don't see anyway (beyond a miracle) that Randy will ever see a title shot again, there's just too many people to go through and the division is deep enough where it's safe to say it'll never happen. But what the hell, he'll be ready should the sky fall and there's nobody for a last minute replacement. Also you can blame fighters like Brandon Vera, who of course won the fight, but he should've sent Randy packing into permanent retirement.
ufc doesn have the fan base of boxing?lmfao yer right its alot bigger and growing, how can some of you people be so disrespectful,i mean cmon .how r ppl gun say randy didnt look good either , o really he only rocked him with like 20 shots before endin it, showing how crisp his standup is ,we kno coleman aint a striker he got railed plenty times, hence looking out of it,yes he did look a lil outa shape not at his best but to put randy down cmon it was a gret performance for the natural. and coleman /kongo?what are u retarted obviousely, differ weight classes n kongo would crush him.i hate when people post not knowing nething just some noobs posting to post nething stupid and irrelevant
Hey there people, first of i would like to say that Randy really was the favorite to win this fight and has been since it was announced. I've seen allot of the so called "Hand-Me-Fights" and this is far from a fruitless victory. Randy Couture imposed his will and to put it simply he broke Coleman's will with his superior stand up, from that stage on it was really a matter of when and how. Possibly an overlooked factor in this fight is Coleman's chin and heart, outstanding to say the least.. To put it bluntly Randy IS an HAS always been a better fighter then Coleman.
Couture ia an example, hi's 46 year old and fight evereone, he fight Broc, Minotauro, and has mora gas tham many younger fights we have seen.
When he loss, ( it's normal in his age ) every body saus a lot, but all he's fight he fight hard, anda very tatical, accurate, and alwes learning more and applaying what he learn at the ring.

Hehe looked like his training regime was one set of benchpress and a protein shake.

February 7th, 2010 at 10:02 pmOh and btw… Nobody should even stoop low enough to hire Floyd Mayweather hahaha
February 7th, 2010 at 10:06 pmDammit coleman didn't attempt any takedowns… Why did he try to stand with Randy? WHY?! Good work Randy!
February 7th, 2010 at 10:11 pmI agree that this is Randy's best weight, but I don't think his stand up has improved, his stand up has always been this good, it just looked better against a very old and slow Mark Coleman.
