  3. fightfan Said,

    Awesome!!! Thanks for the post!!

It is so gratifying watching an arrogant cocky SOB get his ass handed to him. Mir even has the gall to talk shit on Randy Couture, saying that Brock beat up a 220 lb old man???? Well, as cocky bastards do, they dont count what has happened to themself as reality.

Mir lost to a 219 lb old man this night. Mir has a habit of getting beat into hamburger meat by 220 lb fighters and less, andt in all honesty should be light heavies. Let's see…..Vera, 220 lbs at the timewbeat the piss out of Mir in a minute or so. Pe De Pano(not sure of spelling) was a stick man at 220 soaking wet and beat Mir into a bloody pulp.

I could see if Mir was 25-0 and beat top fighters around the world, then maybe he could get away with talking like a douchebag…..BUT, if you cant back it up, just dont say anything

  4. fightfan Said,

    Sorry for the double…

The story "behind" the scenes is what made this fight so memorable to me. I was never an Ian Freeman fan, just a fan of anyone who puts Mir in his place.

Freeman was just a warm-up fight for Mir. The UFC expected him to fight for the belt, and SOON. So they brought in this old guy for Mir to pad his record and to look to casuals like he is unstoppable(kind of like how they forced Bisping down casuals throat with can after can fights).

Anyhow, minutes before Freeman walked out for the fight, insiders(press and those closest to Freeman) discovered that Freeman's father had JUST lost his long battle with cancer. SO, many in the crowd knew that Freeman's Dad has just passed, while Freeman fought his heart out not knowing any different.. Then after the fight, Freeman told the crowd about his sick father and how this fight was dedicated to his dad…..while the whole time he had no idea that he had passed away just hours previously.

That entire post fight interview will always be one of the most remembered ever by me anyhow
