@bosly – basically exactly what i thought was going to happen, shields getting all the positions but no sub.

You can’t call his bjj garbage, hes blackbelt under cesar gracie and trains with the diaz brother. If he caught an arm or a choke at any point in the fight you would not be saying that.

@andrew – if hes so great and amazing in bjj then why couldnt he finish “slap boxing” miller in all those mounts n back mounts? he has zero impressive wins over top fighters. dont get me wrong, millers pretty good on the ground but Shields is hyped up to be one of the top bjj fighters in mma but hes really just average compared to others. Shields is all hype.

But I do agree, that was a boring fight, but Jake had to do what he had to do, it’s all about the “W” in the end.

That was simply a bad match-up between fighters. They cancelled each other out and nether was good at anything else. More MMA fighters need to pract striking, because they all are getting ground game now days. Melvin Manhoef has just signed with strikeforce & now we’ll see some real striking hehe.
Hope he doesnt gwet taken down thought lol.
