Nate Diaz says he Fought Like Garbage

Coming off a main event split decision loss at Ultimate Fight Night 20 to Gray Maynard, Nate Diaz said this:
“I fought like garbage and I’m sorry to my fans for my performance. I was hesitant about throwing hard punches because I kept thinking he was going to go for a takedown. It looked like I was knocked down in the second but actually he stepped on my foot and when I tried to back out I slipped. I really don’t think I’m going to stay at 155lbs. I don’t make enough money to have to drop this much weight so I’d like to fight at 170 and only go to 55’s every once in awhile. You know if you look at his face compared to mine right now you’d think there was no way he beat me in a fight but I’ve never been too popular with the judges.”
(quoted from graciefighter.com)

Why don’t you just admit that he beat you, all the S@#$ you talk and you can’t be man enough to admit when you’re out fought, what a B!@#$ you are and a embarrassment to the sport clean up your act and be a man.
January 13th, 2010 at 4:05 pmhe is such a loser! diaz brothers always making excuses and acting like idiots. I was glad he lost.
January 13th, 2010 at 5:15 pmWhat a dumbass, he should have figured out by the second round Gray wasn't going for the takedown cause your guard is really good. You're a lame ass fighter and your gameplan was fucked up from the get-go.
January 13th, 2010 at 8:03 pmquit hating on the diaz brothers. They talk shit during every fight if you retards havent seen the trend now. Nate won the first round gray wont the second and nate was winning the third up until the last minute. Everyone who thinks they just act like punks with no reason behind it are all retards.
January 13th, 2010 at 8:39 pmIt's starting to become more and more apparent that alot of these fights are being won and lost due to the fighters cornermen. After Nate was down 2 love or even at best, his corner told him that they would tell him when it was time to turn it on in the 3rd round, meaning be more aggressive at the 2 or 3 minute mark. When you only have 3 f*ing rounds, you just can't afford to pick and choose when it's time to try and win the fight, if you couldn't dominate the 1st 2 rounds, how the hell can you decide you'll win it at will in the final round. Very similar to Shogun vs Machida, Rua should've been more aggressive, but his corner told him that he was winning. This is really what makes me appreciate Fedor, because no matter what, he's trying to end the fight before the final bell.
January 13th, 2010 at 10:02 pmIt is so f*ing frustrating watching a fighter you want to win and the fight is close or leaning towards the other guy and your guy is just out there not doing much but throwing his arms up in the air trying to hype the crowd. Diaz should've threw punches at Maynard instead of up in the air as to tell "the Bully" to let's get it on.
I'm a big fan of the Diaz brothers and will always be, but Nate needs to work on his stand up and use his height and reach to his advantage, but I'm not buying that he was worried about Gray shooting on him, both brothers a phenomenal on the ground and if the stand up isn't working, then let your opponent take you down.
January 13th, 2010 at 10:05 pmI agree, you gotta be stupid to wanna take n.diaz down and pull guard. Nate Diaz should have been tee'ing off on Maynard with jabs and leg kicks., but it's obious his stand-up sucks(it hasn't improved at all since his UFC debut) and Maynard is just a better boxer.
January 13th, 2010 at 11:05 pmHe thinks he'd be better at 170? Maybe his lisp would be more manly but I'd like to see him get his ass whipped by the 170's.
January 14th, 2010 at 1:50 amI started to like Nate after his first loss because he is a cocky bastard. I think every cocky bastard needs to lose before I root for them. I can't begin to understand why Diaz didn't let Maynard take him down! Diaz's ground game is awesome! Horrible game plan!
January 15th, 2010 at 10:42 pmAs for Maynard………"I was not impressed by your performance!" Who taught you how to back away and throw hay-makers? Maynard is soooo overrated!
I am so glad that Maynard didn't get the title shot over Frankie. Even though Frankie is not a worthy opponent for BJ
