Fuck. I had 5k on Franklin and 10k on Cro Cop.

September 19th, 2009 at 10:43 pmi hated seeing franklin go down like that : /
September 19th, 2009 at 10:55 pmWell Pasquale, that pretty much sucks. Who knew these upsets were going to happen? lol That hook that dropped Franklin looked weird.
September 19th, 2009 at 11:11 pmthis is another fight that is up for suspect. He could of been paid to loose, so Anderson silva could face Belfort.
September 19th, 2009 at 11:42 pmwell c’mon, Franklin wasn’t a bad bet. He’s been scrappy against tons of get strikers and sub-masters that’re supposed to be better than him, and usually finds a way to be competitive, if not win.
September 20th, 2009 at 3:50 amBut if you bet on Cro Cop you should have know you were betting on a long shot. I love CC back in his prime but its pretty obvious he hasn’t been the same. that was hardly an upset. no serious betters thought Cro Cop was going to beat Dos Santos. frankly he was facing a younger, bigger, stronger, hungrier version of himself; and the changing of the guard emphatically occurred.
er, *tons of great strikers
September 20th, 2009 at 3:51 amA bit disappointed Rich went down without putting up a good fight. Belfort has too much power and to be honest, Rich is very chinny since he lost to Anderson Silva.
September 20th, 2009 at 3:54 amWhere`s Pedro Carvalho?!
One more knockout for Brasil!!!!!
GO VITOR!!!! YOU DESERVED IT!
POOR FRANKLIN…
HE DIDN`T HAD A CHANCE!!!
BRASIL RULEZZZZ
September 20th, 2009 at 4:16 am@Yup – Conspiracy theorist unite, the UFC has pulled off yet another payoff scam!!!!!
What an ignoramus statement from a compulsive “RETARD” who can’t accept that Belfort is just too hard of a puncher for Franklin. Anyone who would believe that the largest MMA promotion in the world and the center of the MMA universe, not to mention a multi million dollar company (soon to be a billion), would remotely come close to thinking that they would have to pay off a fighter to take a dive just so it could find an “OPPONENT” for Silva, is just beyond ignorant. God forbid they would allow Silva to fight someone at light heavy.
Yup, that was a brilliantly stupid statement!!!! Paying Henderson to take a dive against Bisping would’ve made more sense because it would’ve yielded a much bigger gate in the UK.
So yes, that’s what the UFC would want to risk in just trying to set up a fight with Silva, because bringing the MMA into mainstream and making it the fastest growing sport in the world isn’t enough for Dana and the crew. Let’s risk it all to bring Silva another fight by paying off Franklin.
Yup, you figured it all out, CONGRATS!!!!
September 20th, 2009 at 5:31 amthe body of victor smash the face of Franklin in the ground. In that moment the fight its over.
September 20th, 2009 at 6:15 amSurely you don’t mean five and ten thousand American dollars?!
No disrespect, but if you do, I don’t buy that for one minute. Someone who has the coin to just drop 15k on a pair of fights, would not be (immediately, anyway) posting it on some random MMA website.
You’re the very 1st person to post to this link and you’re telling me that after dropping 15k, your first instinct was to let everyone on MMA-Hits know what you did. Everyone is different, but people who have that kind of money, (imho) would have other important things to do or parties to attend to. But that’s just my opinion.
September 20th, 2009 at 7:29 am@PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE – See Minotauro Noguiera’s first fight in the UFC against Heath Herring for a example of someone being ordered to lose a fight. In this case Herring. Why? Lucrative Brasilian audience,
September 20th, 2009 at 7:40 amyeah UFC is becoming WWE….pathetic.
September 20th, 2009 at 8:02 am[...] HERE to watch. Share the [...]
September 20th, 2009 at 8:09 amIs this loading for anyone else?
September 20th, 2009 at 8:12 am@Johnny – Oh yeah, of course, because Brazil is the driving economic force behind the UFC’s success. That’s why there’s been so many events down there since the exponential growth of the company. Because when the UFC was 44 million in the hole, it was the “Lucrative Brasilian audience” that pulled them out of the jaws of bankrupt death. Silly me, I should’ve seen that when I was watching the Herring and Noguiera fight, it was probably obvious.
Great, 2 conspiracy “RETARDS” on the same site, are you two related by incestuous genes by any chance?!
By the way, that was a rhetorical question, so before you reply with a proud emphatic “yes”, I already knew the answer.
September 20th, 2009 at 8:14 am@PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE – Okay. That ‘lucrative brasilian audience’ comment was wayward. I stand corrected. But watch the fight if you can. I don’t know (if it is indeed true) why the fight would have been thrown and can only speculate. Minotauro was heralded as a big name acquisition. His subsequent fights have been large audience draws. He has been a trainer on the TUF show. If he had lost on his very first (as he did, again watch the fight) it may have been embarassing to the UFC (see Mr.White) and affected his potential audience draw. I am a fan of the UFC.
September 20th, 2009 at 8:30 amYou there Pre-emptive?… talk to me man … why is it so quite ..
September 20th, 2009 at 9:03 am@Johnny – Please read my last comments, because if you don’t understand them, then everything else is pointless! I’m not going to watch the fight again, that too would be pointless, especially since you can’t even offer any type of inanely laughable evidence.
Their were plenty of big names that came from Pride, ie Rampage, Wanderlei, Shogun, Cro Cop, and yes Minotauro. The biggest one being Shogun, who was widely considered the best 205 pounder on the planet. That’s why Dana told Forrest to take a dive in that fight also, because he would be horrifically embarrassed if Rua would have lost his UFC debut after all the hype behind him.
Once again and hopefully once and for all, the UFC has “ZERO” to gain and “EVERYTHING” to lose by even thinking of doing such an overt criminal act such as fixing a fight.
Should any of their superstars (new or old) happen to lose a fight, debut or otherwise, guess what, a new superstar will arise. Everyone will want to know and see this fighter who just upset one of the biggest names in MMA.
Hopefully this well clear up any other unfounded theories that you may have.
September 20th, 2009 at 9:14 am@Johnny – Hey Johnny, are you there? Talk to me man, is the thought process of common sense sinking in?
September 20th, 2009 at 9:32 am@Pasquale – Sucks the main page of this site spoiled this fight with the Dana interview about Vitor. I should of known better than to read the comments cause you spoiled the Cro Cop fight too. If you really bet $10,000 you’re a crazy bastard. I had $100 on Vitor! Hope he puts Anderson to sleep can’t wait for that fight.
September 20th, 2009 at 9:48 amThe thought process of common sense has sunk in. Thanks for the lesson. I stand learned.
September 20th, 2009 at 9:58 amI knew Belfort was gonna knock him out…..Belfort has been in this game way too long Franklin’s good but he cant hang with Vitor…..yea baby hes back!!
September 20th, 2009 at 10:25 amWhat i can say? Brazil simply destroys in UFC!
Anderson Silva, Thiago Silva, Minotauro etc… Now Dos Santos and Vitor Belfort!
They are dropping all the “big stars”! There’s no way to talk about UFC without mention Brazil! That’s it!
September 20th, 2009 at 12:47 pmThe Brazilians are finally showing up. Besides Anderson, that is. Two of the top 4 fighters in each of the three big weight classes in the UFC are Brazilian. Minotoro and Cigano at HW. Lyoto and Shogun at LHW and Anderson and Vitor at MW.
That’s got me thinking. This will never happen, but what if there was a US vs. Brazil tourney in these three weight classes. At MW there would be Anderson and Vitor vs Hendo and Nate the Great. At LHW there would be Lyoto and Shogun vs Rampage and Rashad. At HW there would be Brock and Carwin vs Minotoro and Cigano.
Brazil would definitely win MW and LHW, but I’m not sure about HW.
Where are the Brazilians in the smaller weight classes? Outside of Alves I can’t think of any top WW or LW Brazilains. What’s the deal?
September 20th, 2009 at 2:06 pmCheers my friend!!!
September 20th, 2009 at 2:29 pmI guess these guys who are saying the fight was rigged are taking issue with the grazing right that Belfort threw just before Franklin went down. That wasn’t the punch that knocked him out though. Here is what happened:
After the grazing right, Belfort fell onto Franklin and Franklin stumbled and got pushed down onto all fours. With Franklin underneath him on all fours Belfort hooked a smashing left into his jaw. THIS WAS THE TKO PUNCH. Then he started wailing him while he was stunned and they called the fight.
September 20th, 2009 at 4:40 pmthat hook was fuken hard rich went down like a rag doll
September 20th, 2009 at 11:09 pmwell anyway, the punch hit him either on the cheekbone and then
curved around his head lol. crazy power this kid,
Thanks for the cash Pasquale…I was hurtin ! I didn’t even pay the 50 bucks to watch the fighrts.I was smart enough to come here to MMA HITS.
September 20th, 2009 at 11:43 pm@Johnny –
Bullshit Johnny, Nogueira vs. Herring at UFC 79 was a REMATCH. Nogueira beat him in Pride too, three years earlier. So went and did it again for the UFC. Herring just got beat plain and simple, No conspiracy at work there man. Just history repeating itself like it usually does.
September 21st, 2009 at 3:20 amthats a fucking lie he beat the fuck out of him@Yup -
September 21st, 2009 at 8:02 amWHOA HIS SPEEDING WAS NOT BAD, FUCK CANT WAITING ANDERSON SILVA VS VICTOR BELFORT WOULD BE GREAT FIGHT
September 21st, 2009 at 11:35 amwell done vitor now lets see you fight anerson or someone at the top of there game!hated seeing franklin go down like that as well cause think he is a true fighter and a legend in the sport, yeah franklin will give anyone a fight but think its time he should hang his gloves up now while he still has his dignity and ive still got my memorys!you have a true fighters heart and spirit and wish you all the best for the future!
September 21st, 2009 at 2:13 pmBRAZIL FUCKING’ RULES UFC!!!!!!!!!!!
September 21st, 2009 at 2:27 pmMUAY THAI AND BJJ!!!
BYE BYE AMERICANS, RUSSIANS, JAPANESES…..
UFC IS NOW VERY EASY FOR BRAZILIAN FIGHTERS. THEY SHOULD FIND GOOD FIGHTERS TO FIGHT…. BECAUSE IT IS BECOMING TOO EASY!!!
@Pasquale –
September 21st, 2009 at 3:40 pmYou will lern
@Johnny – Well. Assuming that the idea here is to stack Americans against Brazilians in such events so Americans as majority of audience will pack every single event to realize that there is Brazilian ready to beat the crap out of a American so he can get paid. But hey, I’m just assuming.
September 21st, 2009 at 3:53 pmI am Brazilian and I must say.. who are Rich Franklin? he and a joke!! whom he wins? nobody!!
do not know how he is still struggling in the ufc.
September 21st, 2009 at 3:57 pmhe was obviously joking you tard@PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE -
September 21st, 2009 at 6:44 pm@asdf – If you’re going to reply to someone, why don’t you use what little grey matter that you might possess and elaborate to whom and what subject that you’re referring to.
That way I can attempt to produce a comprehensible answer to someone who’s clearly been bestowed with what one might consider an underdeveloped mental wit.
September 21st, 2009 at 7:58 pmI think Franklin gave up before the fight even started
September 22nd, 2009 at 8:41 amI think Franklin is going to fall into the “stepping stone” category, why he isn’t improving as a fighter is a mystery to me.
September 22nd, 2009 at 11:06 am@Felipe Cunha – WTF did you say? Here’s an AMERICAN dollar….go make sense!
@ ALL YOU OTHER FOOLS CLAIMING THE FIGHT WAS THROWN – Every time a good fighter gets his ass beat by another in fashion, the comments about rigged fights and WWE start to flood in like Hurricane Katrina. Saying that the UFC will rig fights is absolutely absurd! My only explanation to those comments is that these are WWE fans trying to convert themselves to UFC fans but are having a hard time grasping reality. It is their sexual, I mean homo-sexual fantasy to be able to only watch the UFC if the fights are predetermined like the WWE. Well idiots, good luck staying with Vinny-Mack because the UFC will never stoop to your level!
@PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE – Where did these boneheads appear from?
September 22nd, 2009 at 1:58 pm(This is what I was referring to in my prior post for those of you who were wondering)
September 22nd, 2009 at 2:01 pm@Peter Hardwood – LOL, I have no idea what the hell is going on, I can only assume that some charitable organization offered funding to hospitals with mental wards so they could receive computers for their patients to get access online for some type of therapeutic experiment.
September 22nd, 2009 at 2:40 pmHe hit him with a huge left hook that caught Rich on the jaw, no suspect!
September 23rd, 2009 at 11:41 ambrazilian, american, english, mexican, japanese, croation or whatever nationality. they are all great fighters. remember that in this sport anything can happen. no one is taking falls for money. i’ve been watching the ufc before since ufc 1(way before it went mainstream) and these guys sacrifice everything. mma fighters are the greatest athletes in the world … hats off to them and much deserved props!
September 29th, 2009 at 6:42 pmit doesnt work
October 19th, 2009 at 3:45 pmLOOK, FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY THINK RICH WAS PAID TO TAKE A DIVE !! WOW ALL I CAN SAY IS TRULY YOU MUST OF BEEN A FIGHTER BEFORE WITH YOUR UNBELIEVABLY WELL TRAINED EYE TO NOTICE THERE WAS NO WAY ON THIS PLANET HE WASN’T REALLY HURT AND THEREFORE COMING UP WITH THE EVEN MORE BRILLIANT ADOLESCENT IDEA HE WAS PAYED TO TAKE A DIVE!!! PLEASE PEOPLE HE WAS TRULY HURT ANYONE WISE ENOUGH COULD SEE IT IN HIS ENTIRE BODY LANGUAGE…OHH AND FOR THE RECORD THEY ARE BOTH BRAZILIAN..BOTH WITH BRAZILIAN FAMILY AND FANS STRAIGHT FROM BRAZIL..SO COUNT THE WHOLE TRYING TO MAKE IT MORE BENEFICIAL FOR UFC’S CREDABILITY TO GAIN THE FAN BASE OF BRAZIL WHEN THEY ARE BOTH BRAZILIAN AND THE FAN BASE OF BRAZIL IS SOMETHING THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE NO MATTER WHO LOSES FROM THERE….
