Shane Carwin vs Roy Nelson at UFC 125

Carwin himself, in fact, made the news of his return on his official Twitter page (@ShaneCarwin), and since then many have speculated who the former title challenger will be facing.
In his last outing, Carwin attempted to unify his interim heavyweight title, which he earned with a first round knockout of former champion Frank Mir at UFC 111, when he tangled with the current title holder in Brock Lesnar, at UFC 116 last July. After a dominant first-round turned in, where “The Engineer” was able to drop Lesnar with a barrage of punches, eventually gassing himself when he unloaded a heavy dose of ground and pound that had left Brock on the ropes, but otherwise still in the fight.
Now returning to action after the disappointing loss, Carwin will tangle with former IFL heavyweight champion and “The Ultimate Fighter” season 10 winner, Roy Nelson.
“Big Country” himself, is coming off a loss of his own. After going 2-0 inside the promotion with a win over hot prospect Brendan Schaub, to claim the TUF title last December, and an additional win over up-and-comer Stef Struve (UFC Fight Night 21, in March of this year)—both by way of knockout, Nelson’s run to the top was derailed when he met Brazilian striker, Junior dos Santos.

Roy nelson is gonna die lol.
October 8th, 2010 at 7:00 amtheres no way in hell hes gonna survive toe 2 toe with carwin
this is gonna be a worse beat down then when dos santos beat him. first round knock out. idk why carwin didnt get immediate rematch vs brock
October 8th, 2010 at 8:22 amSUCH an easy fight for carwin
October 8th, 2010 at 8:55 amtxs for the interview mman
October 8th, 2010 at 8:59 amLets see if Carwin doesn't punch himself out again. I don't think he will. Carwin by KO in the 2nd, just because of Nelson's chin.
October 8th, 2010 at 2:22 pmthis is not going to end well for roy nelson.
October 8th, 2010 at 2:25 pmhmm maybe because brock finished the fight and it didn't go to decision which means the win is not debatable. dumbass
October 8th, 2010 at 3:16 pmeven if he loses hs next three fights, big country wont get dropped by the ufc his got a six figure contract which will keep him in the ufc for a few years
October 8th, 2010 at 5:43 pmroys got good bjj i wouldn't count him out just yet, but it doesn't look good for him.
October 8th, 2010 at 6:54 pmCarwin can defend the takedown very well while his cardio lasts, and that's bad for Nelson. Pulling guard with Carwin is bad because of those cannons he calls arms. Nelson's only shot, IMO, is to make Carwin run out of gas and blowup on him, with striking to set up the takedown to a submission. Roy's BJJ is top tier as far as his size goes, but Roy likes to press forward (like with JDS) and that mentality could be his downfall.
October 8th, 2010 at 7:52 pmeasy win for carwin – you guys must be higher than me – jds didnt have a picnic with roy – and im sure the same will go for when he battles carwin – who knows – roy could just knock out shane – and celebrate with a belly rub! lol
October 8th, 2010 at 8:44 pmEASY MURDERER…SO, YOUR LOGIC APPLY TO THE SONNEN-SYLVA REMATCH RIGHT?
October 8th, 2010 at 8:50 pmMMMM, the same was thinking dos santos i think…
October 8th, 2010 at 8:51 pmHey guys add me on FB all you mma fanatics!

October 8th, 2010 at 9:56 pmLol.
October 9th, 2010 at 1:27 amDumb ass can't even spell fagot correctly. Ha!
October 9th, 2010 at 2:09 amI really like Roy Nelson for he is such a character, such a figure with that hair and his belly. He has a big heart too.
October 9th, 2010 at 8:33 amCarwin is a better fighter, but Roy has a chance if he takes the fight to ground, Carwin´s weak point.
I cheer Roy puts on a good challenge to Carwin. I think it´s going to be a great fight to watch.
yeah, everyone thought JDS would get the easy KO on Nelson too. But it didn't work out that way.
Nelson has a solid chin, and i wouldn't be suprised if nelson gets the win on the ground or with the UD if he gets passed round 1.
No disrepect to carwin, but he is built like a giant dwarf, and that doesn't allow for much gas in the tank.
October 9th, 2010 at 12:47 pmCarwin is over rated, and a cheat, Roy Nelson can take a good beasting and he has better cardio than his fat ass suggests so my prediction is when Carwins chemically enhanced muscles use all his oxygen trying to knock Nelson out and he turns into a pool of water on the mat, Nelson will stop him with strikes, end of 2nd or mid 3rd, No problem
October 9th, 2010 at 1:08 pmyou sound like a gay local radio presenter on the breakfast time slot
October 9th, 2010 at 1:10 pmblah blah blah fuckin blah blah
October 9th, 2010 at 1:15 pmyeaaaah except Sonnen didn't get a rematch cuz he CHEATED and still LOST. Seriously, how do you take steroids and have an opponent with broken ribs and STILL lose? Its mind boggling. Perhaps Silva (thats how its spelled) Really is P4P best fighter in the world? He basically fought with a handicap.
October 9th, 2010 at 4:02 pmStrikeforce live stream at http://www.mmatko.info/strikeforce-diaz-vs-noons-2/ up
October 9th, 2010 at 7:11 pmroy nelson hasn't beaten anyone good in the ufc. he beat schaub and struve they are both low ranked and now they are putting him vs the top contenders. doesnt make any sense
October 10th, 2010 at 7:14 amI think that maybe his charisma turns up the pay per view
October 10th, 2010 at 7:29 amto win against Shane Carwin ,one needs to stay out of reach of Shane Carwin in the first round,
October 10th, 2010 at 9:16 pmstart fighting him and close the distance in the second round.
a fighter should not belong to the ufc if he can not fight 3 rounds
haha yea how do you lose with steroids against a guy with broken ribs. Silva isn't pound for pound though. In my opinion the pound for pound best fighter will always be the lightheavyweight champion. that division is the hardest division in my opinion. thats why its rare to have a champ maintain there belt in that division. it was funny as hell when he beat forrest though
