Just How Hard Did Shane Carwin Punch Lesnar?

Former number one contender, and super hard puncher, Shane Carwin came as close as anyone has to dethroning current UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. There was some speculation about Lesnar’s chin after the bout, with detractors thinking that the champ looked quite vulnerable. Carwin, however, disagrees and set the record straight when he answered one question with The Garv:
I feel like he took shots that were hard enough to finish any of my other opponents. Brock is a real tough fighter and a true Champion. He did what Champions do he found a way to win and did so through adversity. My hat is off to him and his camp.
No word on what’s next for Carwin but expect him to start another push to the heavyweight title.

July 27th, 2010 at 1:42 amIf Carwin was facing anyone else in the division while he was still undefeated I'm pretty sure he would have won. Since he fought the heavily advertised Brock he lost prior to even getting in the ring. IMO
Theres a big difference from POOR submission defense and NO submission defense. Even a novice noob would wiggle to release the the hold. It looked like Brock placed a submission on a paid off statue. Carwin is old and has reached his ceiling, if not surpassed it, so stacking chips should be priority #1 for a fighter his age. GOOD JOB SUGA SHANE "MONEY" CARWIN.
(I question these so-called fighters that the UFC gets from independent bankrupt organizations. These lower rung fight clubs have no morals and are fueled more so by money and staying afloat; so I would not put it past them that they create an unstoppable image for fans to attach to and pay to see. What I'm trying to say is that maybe Lesnar's post-bout nice persona wasn't the only acting done in that HW match up.)

You really think Carwin was set to take a dive? He was DESTROYING Lesnar in the 1st. You can't pretend to do that. If you believe it was fixed, why do you watch?

Yes, he was gassed but no one doesn't move during a submission attempt. There was no rotating of the shoulder or hips being gassed doesn't prevent that. Yes, Carwin was winning in the 1st are you saying you cannot fake a ground and pound? Did you notice whenever Carwin threw an elbows from the top ALL MISSED. How do you miss an elbow from the top that's more accurate than a punch from the top position. Like I said IMO if you don't like it don't read when you see my name.

Thanks for the link to the Frank Shamrock. I have not read that until now! Pretty fucked up how people attack someone who knows a little about MMA. It's not a bad thing being compared to PES and Aftermathematic because they actually have some knowledge of the sport, unlike you, cough, cough.
