Ronda Rousey All But Confirmed In Upcoming WWE Bout After Confrontation

After years of speculation, it appears as though former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s transition from a mixed martial artist to a professional wrestling is just around the corner…

Last night, the MMA megastar featured in a storyline segment on with MMA training partners Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir and a future match was alluded to.

In the scripted segment, the three women were being interviewed after teammate Shayna Baszler’s victory in the WWE Mae Young Classic. While it was taking place, they were confronted by WWE female superstars, Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Becky Lynch.

The trio interrupted Rousey’s interview to try and stare her down but she wasn’t having any of it: “You name the time, you name the place,” Rousey challenged her would-be opponents. “Not today? Alright. We’re waiting to hear from you.”

Years ago, Rousey, Duke, Shafir, and Baszler were named MMA’s Four Horsewomen and in women’s pro wrestling, Flair, Lynch, Bayley and Sasha Banks are known as the Four Horsewomen. You can see why this matchup makes sense…

Rousey is a genuine fan of pro wrestling and often attends events

37-year-old Baszler was a pioneer in women’s MMA and compiled a record of 15-11. Her career began back in 2003 and over the years, The Queen of Spades fought some of the best in the sport, including Amanda Nunes, Alexis Davis, Sara McMann, and Cris Cyborg.

She has booked her place in the finals of the 32-woman Mae Young Classic tournament, which will go down live next week in Las Vegas. WWE is also reportedly very keen to sign her to a long-term contract.

There’s been plenty of rumours flying around that both sets of Four Horsewomen will face off in a four-on-four wrestling match at WWE’s Survivor Series, a pay-per-view event on November 19 in Houston, Texas. There have also been reports that Rousey and Duke are already training pro wrestling in Los Angeles.

Rousey at Wrestlemania 2015

Two years ago, Rousey appeared at WWE’s WrestleMania in a segment with The Rock, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Since that day, fans of wrestling and MMA alike have been asking when we might see the superstar inside the ring. It now appears that the date is all but set…

There’s no doubt that she’s a massive draw
